It’s a Perfect 10!

To score a Perfect 10 anywhere…dance, sport, public speaking…is quite an achievement. A Perfect 10 in beauty? Well, that seems to be a breeze for the Ballito franchise. Owner Kalai Moodley and her team of therapists have consistently come out on top of the Perfect 10 pile, and it’s not difficult to see why. As soon as I walked into the shop, which is always buzzing, I was greeted by the lovely Kalai – she is very involved in the studio and always has time for a quick chat before your treatment. Another great feature is that every therapist says a cheery “hello” to clients; cheery staff members instantly put me at ease. Skincare therapist Bianca Grobbelaar whisked me away for my Guinot Hydradermie Lift, beginning with a thorough analysis of my skin. I was impressed at how knowledgeable she was on the procedure; she explained every step to me before she began and answered all my questions throughout. The Hydradermie Lift is no ordinary facial – its aim is to provide the skin with a substantial lift through muscle stimulation. After Bianca cleansed my skin, she began the drainage process: using two metal electrodes she pinpointed areas where my facial muscles are attached to each other. The electrodes carry a light current through the facial muscles, triggering them into a relaxed position. The current intensifies during the stimulation process. After completing one side of my face, Bianca showed me the difference in a mirror: one half of my face was showing a slight lift. “On younger skin, the difference will not be stark. But on slightly older skin, or one someone who has droopy eyelids, the facial will have an effect similar to Botox. The skin lifts visibly.” A heavenly back, shoulder and head massage was just what I needed (deadline wreaks havoc with my body, I tell you!) Bianca ended off with an anti-fatigue mask and Guinot Energie Lift. What I loved about this facial is how the dark circles under my eyes lightened drastically; Bianca says the Guinot Hydradermie Eye Lift works wonders for sinus problems, and stress relief. This procedure is available in two options – a one week, or three week treatment.
