The recent opening of the new splash pad and putt-putt course is indicative of the family-focused offerings for which Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estate is becoming increasingly well known for.

In recent years, the Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estate brand has seen a complete brand rejuvenation and, hand in hand with this rejuvenation, the estate’s lifestyle offerings have adapted to the changing needs of the market. Today, Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estate – a premier golfing estate that boasts two championship golf courses – offers enhanced lifestyle facilities for a youth market. In recent years, the demographic of new residents has changed considerably, with an increase younger families now moving onto the estate than ever seen before. It is this sector of the market that is attracted to Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estate, those who are in search of a secure, rich and varied lifestyle for all generations, particularly younger children. Today’s family yearns for the childhood experiences of yesteryear, with children cycling freely on safe roads and with playgrounds and family-focused restaurants and activities available.

Encapsulating this evolution is the new splash pad and putt-putt course, which opened in December 2021 – an extension of the much loved Watershed Cafe with its outstanding views over Pani Dam, its children’s play area and, of course, the very popular pizza oven!

Along with this new splash pad and putt-putt course, young families on the estate can enjoy the 15-kilometre multipurpose track for cyclists, runners and walkers that meanders adjacent to the golf courses through open grass areas and forests, and along golf cart tracks. People using this track often encounter a number of buck species along the way. Mountain biking has become exceptionally popular on Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estate, and children are able to enrol in mountain-biking lessons with Ian Wilson from Single Track Minded, who built the multipurpose track. Children can also enjoy the pump track, which is an undulating cycling track for children, positioned at one of the seven community centres on the estate. All community centres boast a swimming pool and many have children’s playgrounds, braai facilities, slides and cricket nets.
