Widenham Retirement Village, the newest addition to the Hibiscus Retirement Village group, is set on 100 hectares of plush coastal forest in the quaint community of Widenham. The village will consist of appoximately 600 cottages, comprising of a range of contemporary high-quality one-, two- and three-bedroom cottages, offering a variety of optional customisations. The Village will also have a number of amenities and facilities for your active and care-free retirement.

Widenham Retirement Village will consist of approximately 600 units when complete.

The village will be built in a series of phases with each phase consisting of approximately 100 units. Each phase will be built and occupied within a year of commencement of that phase. Construction began in July 2018. Phase 1,2 and 3 are completed and phase 4 has a few cottages left to sell. The first 6 cottages in the newly launched Phase 5 will be available for occupation in July 2023.

There are a number of one bedroom cottages being built in the Widenham Retirement Village. These semi-detached units are generally in blocks of 4. Each unit has a garage, a veranda under a tiled roof, a courtyard and one bathroom.

Widenham Retirement Village is the fourth addition to Hibiscus Retirement Village’s portfolio. Continuing with the successful model laid down by the other three villages, Widenham Village will include all the same facilities.

The Village Bowls Club is already active, with our two beautiful newly-laid greens in play and construction has started on the club house and is expected to be completed in February 2021. Also planned are tennis courts, entertainment hall, gym, library, chapel and swimming pools, with a restaurant and coffee shop to be added as the development grows.

Frail Care is a cornerstone of the Hibiscus Retirement Village ethos and a comprehensive facility will be built on-site, available to all residents. A fully functioning clinic is already up and running, supported by the Umdoni and Margate Care Centres.
