Ed’s Note – October I November

I love how we’ve stayed true to our commitment to tell positive stories of inspiration, aspiration or passion in our magazine. In a time when the world is hurting and it seems that there is always suffering somewhere, we need to
shine some light on the things that are good in our lives — and it is even better when those things are close to home.
At a recent function, I was asked to make a speech and in it I shared how we are invited into homes, businesses, schools and communities every day with the hope that we will share the great stories of those who invite us. Our
greatest challenge isn’t in finding “good news” stories in Umhlanga and in our city — our challenge is in trying to fit them into edition after edition of our magazine. This is the type of challenge that we thrive on...needing to have more
pages to share more great stories. Flipping through the pages of our magazine and reading our stories is a way that you can acknowledge those in your community who are sharing their stories and celebrating their accomplishments.
Imagine how much greater our communities would be if we were genuinely inspired and truly celebrated the success of those around us. A community that acknowledges the good work of their peers flourishes with them and that is why we work so hard at publishing our magazines.
And isn’t Umhlanga flourishing! From the amazing developments on the Ridge to the new residential developments springing up all over. The new interchange is another iconic project that is already positively impacting the area as people see growth and investment in Umhlanga. More businesses, more people and more homes means that we’ll have many more good stories to tell right here in the pages of the The Umhlanga, which has been steadily growing
and flourishing since the first issue saw the light of day.
